QBE Casualty Install Workflow Solution from KnowledgeCenter

February 25, 2008

International insurer QBE has installed a workflow solution from KnowledgeCenter for its Casualty business across both its company and Lloyd's operations. The solution provides users with a controlled method for identifying that lines/layers arriving in a bound slip are processed appropriately and in a timely fashion. The workflow process is automatically started by scanning the bound slip with the initial task delivered directly to the Underwriters' electronic 'in tray'. The initial details about the slip contents (i.e. Lines and layers present) are setup by Underwriters, then passed on to the newly created Central Underwriting Support team, through the workflow process, for subsequent processing.

The solution is integrated with QBE's quotation system (MI Quick Quote) and provides the ability for QBE Casualty staff to record the lines/layers that require processing along with the target IT systems (namely Genius, Phoenix, IRIS and Protect) that need to be accessed to process the slip and setup permanent records.

In addition to the controlled process, data is automatically generated to allow reports to be created and run. These reports detail where items of work are in the process, who is working on them and if the slips are being processed, completed accurately, in a timely fashion.
